If you join the family at CF V02Max, we take your membership seriously. And we firmly believe that we’re successful when you’re successful.

One of the things we love to do at CF V02Max is… celebrate!

Our members come to our gym for a number of reasons. They want to lose fat. They hope to gain muscle mass. They want to ready themselves for the summer season. They want to train for a specific sport. But, ultimately, they want to live longer, happier and healthier lives. In our experience we have found that no two members are alike.

Different goals, different strategies for reaching those goals, and different outcomes along the way. We meet you where you are, an celebrate as you get to where you’re going.

But don’t just take our word for it. Check out some of our member success stories below.

I joined a contest with our local radio station Q99 and VO2Max. The contest was called Get Fit to Be Fit. Now this contest is very much like The Biggest Loser but anyone could join no matter what your ability was. When I went to Q99 they gave me some forms to fill out and return. In these forms one of the things they ask is what your goal for weight loss would be. At the time I was 242 pounds, the heaviest I have ever been. Now I have always had a hard time losing weight and I had been right around 230 pounds since I was 20 years old, at the time of me writing this I am 42. So I thought if I could lose 15 pounds I would be very happy with this. Now this contest is only 12 weeks so 15 pounds in 12 weeks I hoped was achievable.

I got the call to try out to get into the contest at VO2Max early on a Saturday morning. When I arrived, there are approximately 10 of us, 8 contestants trying out and 2 people from the radio station, and our coach Ron Turner. Ron runs us through a gauntlet of different exercises for 2 hours (I thought I was going to die) we are told that we were all incredibly welcome to compete and we start on Monday. For the next 2 days I was sore but so happy to be in this group. When I get to VO2Max on Monday I get to meet my other coach Carly Pura AKA Carl. Who I hit it off with right away and makes us feel like we can do anything.

Over the next 12 weeks we are given different exercises with more than half of I had never done before (or heard of), taught about nutrition, metabolic conditioning, how to breath for the best results, as well as a few great metaphors(3 legged dog, be the sword, maximum effort). We also competed in mini challenges for different prizes every week. Now I will say think I did my best. The best thing about CrossFit it is always about you doing the best you can do. You can’t fail when it is you against you. Through the course of the 12 weeks I did meet my goal of 15 pounds before the end of the 12 weeks. By the end of the 12 weeks I had lost 16 pounds so I was ecstatic with this. Our group started to become more then a group; we became family. We laughed together, we cheered each other on, and give a shoulder for support, and we were there to help push each other to be our best.

While we were training at VO2 I started to see on regular bases. The other people at VO2 started to also cheer us on. Fist pumps at the end of a class, to someone walking up to one of us to tell us how much better we are doing to them smiling and waving when we walked in the door.

At the end of the completion I said I had lost 16 pounds. We were all given the option from the owners of VO2Max to finish off the month which there was about 3 weeks left for free because of the work we had put in. I can’t tell you how happy this made me even though I would not be stopping this journey if you had paid me.

Here I am 2 weeks after the completion and still trying to make it to VO2Max 3-4 times a week. Now I have lost 20 pounds in 14 weeks. I am so proud of what I have done with all the hard work and dedication it took.

So I can’t thank Q99, VO2Max, my coaches Ron Turner with Carly Pura, and the Get Fit To Be Fit team for pushing me for the better.

Because this is just the beginning of this Story.
