My experience with the vo2 hockey fit program has been very good. The trainers that I had there pushed me every single day to be the best that I could and I got all of the results that I wanted.The program really helped me as a hockey player by strengthening my weaknesses and improving my strengths. This is just quiet thanks for the past year.  May 21, 2012 marks a year at the box for me
and I wanted to say thanks to all who have been so fantastic to me over the last 12 months.  I have enjoyed classes and everyone taught me something different and valuable.  The  front desk ladies are super friendly and helpful, even before 6:00 in the morning.  I know I would be growling at people if I were in their place.
Thanks for the affordable $140 unlimited monthly membership so I could be at the gym more than 2x per week and thanks to Brett and Janine who brought CrossFit to Grande Prairie.   Without CrossFit, I would never have tried lifting and found out how much fun it is to lift a barbell above my head… and how fun (almost) it is to drop it on the ground!
I expect the next year will be as awesome as the first one.

From 220 Pounds to a Tri Fitness Medalist!!!
I joined VO2Max when it opened in Oct 2009, since then I have achieved many goals I had for myself plus made some new ones!  I competed for the first time in July 2010 at Tri Fitness Las Vegas which I never thought was possible but here I am, a true athlete who placed 5th in the largest Tri Fitness Challenge to date!  So excited. VO2Max has opened my eyes to fitness and what we can achieve.  I started my weight loss journey about 3 1/2 years ago. After having two kids, I packed on the pounds and I weighed around 220 lbs at my heaviest!   At Tri Fitness, I weighed in at under 130 lbs and felt amazing!  I feel great and have never been so healthy, plus my family is benefiting, as well.  Thanks VO2Max :)”

I have done weightlifting and various forms of cardio for over ten years. I love that weightlifting can always be different and challenging.  Over the years I encountered various obstacles, including a significant knee injury, and more recently, I started having inexplicable weight gain (which I learned last year was due to a thyroid condition).  My original goal was to get “ripped”, but I did not make it more specific than that. I never really reached that goal until….
I went to Janine’s bootcamp class in 2009 with a friend.  I was hooked!!!  Then I started doing CrossFit shortly after VO2Max opened their doors in October 2009.  I can’t describe how much I love CrossFit. It’s beyond challenging, it’s always different, and the people are great. It encompasses weights, anaerobic, and endurance elements. It has definitely pushed my limits and has given me great results.
I have learned the value of making fitness goals specific. I decided to give myself six months to get “ripped” and at the end of the six months, I would have fitness photographs taken. I enlisted the help of Brett, Janine and Jenn (and I even suckered them into joining me in the photos).
I had the determination, but Brett, Janine and Jenn gave me the knowledge and support I needed to accomplish my goals.  With their help I finally started seeing results. Although I didn’t lose big numbers, I knew I was heading in the right direction when my co-workers started making fun of my baggy pants.
I now feel that I am in the best shape of my life! I am accomplishing things I never thought possible and setting goals that were previously unimaginable: I have since done my first half marathon, duathlon and next year I may even try a fitness competition!

With CrossFit I find that I get challenged at every single class. It’s not as easy to stay in that comfort zone and to back off when it starts to get a little tougher. When it does get tough the support that you get from the trainers and the other participants helps you get thru to the end. If you want a good workout and to feel like you’ve worked hard then you should definitly come and check out CrossFit!

Want to go from Man/Woman to MACHINE? If so, CrossFit at VO2Max is for you.   I have to say that I’m totally addicted!  Never before have I encountered a gym and a workout which I actually look forward to experiencing every day. Before joining CrossFit, I was a follower of the old “24-hour fitness/Men’s Health/Do-It-Yourself” workout regime and it just wasn’t working anymore.  The CrossFit workout system has given me a much-needed breath of fresh air in terms of what it takes to be truly well rounded physically fit athlete. The workouts are incredibly intense and, at the same time, incredibly rewarding. At Vo2Max, the instructors are extremely knowledgeable and supportive when it comes to managing your fitness. Heck, they’ll even workout with you side by side.  You truly feel like part of a team with one common goal, to get in the best shape possible.
I just wanted to thank the Vo2Max Team for taking my physical fitness to the next level. The CrossFit classes have prepared me to not only meet but greatly exceed my physical fitness goals. Recently I completed my Physical Demands Testing for the County of GP Fire Department, I was able to set “best time” in two of their six tests. CrossFit is about the most challenging and rewarding things I have ever done. The workouts are never the same so there is no boring repetition. The instructors are knowledgeable and real supportive, it doesn’t matter what skill level you are at they always help to make sure your doing it safely and properly. CrossFit will kick your ass, but make you want to come back for more.
